Galeazzo Ciano - Diaries 1939 - 1943

I bought this book because my attention Davies often refers to in his biography of Hitler, Ciano notes. The author was writing a diary during the foreign minister in the cabinet Benito Mussolini, an exceptionally brilliant character, by virtue of his position with immediate access to the backstage Nazi party, the Italian armed forces, the main Nazi German szefostwa more important diplomatic corps and the main players on the contemporary political map of Europe. The author was of course the fascist beliefs and must be read with knowledge of that fact, but all in all not the point. It is about all these details, intrigues within the party, the personal impression from meetings with interesting people, without doubt (as evaluated by skipping the story), comments about the condition of the Italian people, quotes from the Duce, and finally, an anecdote here and there, and intervening thoughts and general comments made by an intelligent and brilliant aristocrat in wprzegnietego modes of fascist regime.

Notes were conceived by the author, as a diary kept up to date, who had later be used as a feedstock for full autobiography. Sila things had to be released in the form of nieociosanej.
